On the 1 of October 2010 The Elk Culture Center start to implement project Cross-border Center for Cultural Integration “Stage at the Border”. Project duration 27 months. Project is implemented by four Partners: The Elk Culture Center as Lead Partner, Alytus Culture and Communication Center, Alytus City Municipality Administration, Elk City Municipality.
Behind the Elk Culture Center will be build the amphitheatre with audience - 1367 seats. New infrastructure will be adapt for disabled. In the technical project there is a platform, that will make easier access for the disabled people who use wheelchairs. There will be access for disabled people to all utility tiers of the infrastructure intended for artist and viewer. There will be also parking lot for disabled and toilets will be adapt for people using wheelchairs.
First construction work will start on April, 2011. Construction of the amphitheatre including such work as: demolition, digging, concrete, brickworks, plastering and finishing work. The technical project In the technical project are also include new installation such as: electrical, sewer, and sanitation. The stage of the amphitheatre makes two angled frame. Above the stage it is foreseen extra roofing of steel construction, that will allow montage of extra lighting. Under the stage will be ticket office, wardrobe and sanitation rooms.
